I'll help you write better, more easily, and more powerfully. And along the way, I'll help you create a writing process that you love.
I have worked with accomplished and well-published writers, people who have barely written anything at all, and everyone in between. What all my clients have in common is that they are brilliant people who want to write with more ease, clarity, and power, and they want their writing process to be sustainable and even enjoyable.
At the heart of my coaching practice is a combination of two things working in concert:
Most of the people I work with come to me at a what I call a threshold moment. They’re moving into a next phase of their work, their practice, or their sense of themselves, and it needs to be expressed in writing.
It might be a grant proposal that could open a new chapter of your career, an application to go back to school or a promotion packet, a book project that formalizes the methodology you've spent decades building, a promotion packet, a practice statement, even a résumé.
My work is to guide people through that moment: I will help you write materials that are excellent, so that you get the job, the grant, the book contract. And also the writing itself becomes part of the transformation: you will come away from working with me with a much deeper sense of who are you are, who you are becoming, and how to express that in the world.
I offer several different packages, ranging from a free consult to see if we're a good fit, to short engagements for specific needs, to deeper partnerships for larger projects.
I am happy (and excited) to give workshops tailored to your organization's needs. Please contact me directly.
Talk through absolutely anything in your writing life: a project, a place you're stuck, an uncertain direction, a manuscript you haven't looked at in months. You'll get clarity, actionable advice, a refreshing conversation, and insight into what works for your particular brain.

I have taught writing at the University of Pennsylvania for nearly a decade. My background is in working very closely with people one-on-one and creating the conditions for them to write with more ease, agency, and delight.
What I most love about teaching and coaching is working very closely with people one-on-one and creating the conditions for them to do their best writing and develop a relationship with their writing process that is sustainable, empowered, and even delightful.
I'm always happy when the people I work with write better and more effectively, but I love most of all is watching someone finish a piece of writing and realize they've crossed into a version of themselves they've been moving towards for a while.
I live in Philadelphia with my husband, our five year old, and an ever-growing herb garden.
